About the role

We are looking for an experienced multi-discipline engineer to join our team, carrying out planned maintenance, fault finding, repairs, remedial works and smaller system upgrades across our established customer base.

You will work primarily across intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems, with opportunities to work on emergency lighting, intercoms and other electronic security systems within our customer portfolio.

Strong intruder alarm experience is particularly important, alongside practical service and fault-finding experience across several of the core disciplines.

Your responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems.
  • Service and maintain emergency lighting, intercoms and other relevant electronic security systems, where trained and competent.
  • Diagnose and repair faults across multiple system types.
  • Complete remedial works identified during maintenance visits.
  • Carry out small works, system alterations and upgrades.
  • Identify defective, obsolete or unsupported equipment and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Communicate professionally with customers.
  • Complete accurate electronic service records and job documentation.
  • Manage your allocated workload and liaise with the office team.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
  • Work in accordance with company procedures and applicable industry standards.

Salary and benefits

  • £35,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience, technical capability and breadth of knowledge.
  • Salary paid weekly.
  • Annual salary review.
  • 37.5-hour working week.
  • Company van with reasonable private use permitted under the company vehicle policy; private fuel costs are payable by the employee.
  • Company mobile phone and iPad/tablet provided.
  • Paid travel time above the normal 30-minute travel allowance.
  • 28 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays, increasing to 33 days after one year’s service. Working days taken off during the Christmas shutdown come from this entitlement.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Standby allowance for each on-call week, paid in addition to basic salary.
  • Call-out attendance paid door-to-door at the applicable rate.
  • An additional paid day off in lieu when rostered on call on a bank holiday, whether or not you attend a call-out.
  • Company-supported technical training and development.
  • An established engineering team with technical and office support.

Training and development

We actively support continued technical development and encourage engineers to tell us where they would like to build their skills.

Training opportunities may include manufacturer courses, product-specific training, fire and security industry qualifications and development across different disciplines.

We are happy to discuss relevant training that supports your career development and the needs of the business
