Location: Stevenage

Package: £30,000-£35,000 depending on experience, 1 day WFH, 28 days holiday

Working hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Practice Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper, to join a well regarded, Accountancy Practice in Stevenage. This practice have 2 UK offices, and a dedicated team, serving over 1000 clients. They are seeking an accountant to help maintain client relations, and deliver an excellent service

You will be working closely with clients, providing full bookkeeping services, VAT services, and hands on accounting services. If you are looking for a mixed role, within a stable and reputable employer, then look no further

Accountant job responsibilities

Manage bookkeeping and financial records for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries.

Obtain, organise and process financial information from clients, ensuring records are complete and accurate.

Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, process bank transactions and complete regular bank reconciliations.

Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant deadlines and HMRC

requirements.

Prepare and submit CIS returns, where applicable, and assist with related client queries.

Review bookkeeping records to identify discrepancies, missing information and potential errors, resolving issues where possible.

Liaise with clients to obtain outstanding documentation, clarify transactions and ensure financial records are maintained up to date.

Prepare and collate financial information for the outsourced accounts preparation team, ensuring all relevant records and supporting documents are provided.

Monitor client deadlines and manage workloads effectively to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.

Assist clients with bookkeeping software, accounting queries and general financial administration where required.Accountant Job

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years Accountancy Practice experience

AAT/ACA/ACCA part or full qualifications are advantageous

Must be able to commute to Stevenage

Experience across different accountancy software

Experience in consistently hitting deadlines, and handling client relationships

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skillsAccountant Salary & Benefits
