Chief Security Architect

In this role, you will serve as the senior technical authority for security architecture within a high-assurance cyber security practice. You’ll lead the design, governance and delivery of secure architectures across Defence, Government and Critical National Infrastructure, guiding complex engagements and shaping security standards. You will influence major programmes and support business growth through client-facing leadership. This position offers strategic impact at the national security frontier and opportunities to mentor others while advancing NCSC-aligned security capabilities.

• Lead the design and assurance of secure architectures across Defence, Government, CNI and mission-critical environments
• Define security requirements, threat models, architectural principles and proportionate controls across the system lifecycle
• Identify and manage security risks across high-level and detailed designs with practical mitigations
• Lead client architecture reviews, design authorities and workshops with senior stakeholders
• Translate complex risks into decision-ready recommendations for CISOs, boards and programme leadership
• Produce architecture artefacts, risk assessments, reviews, requirements and remediation roadmaps
• Set technical standards and assure quality of security architecture deliverables
• Develop security architecture methodologies, capability and best practices across the practice
• Act as senior technical contact for the NCSC Security Architecture offering and lead consultants
• Support business development through bids, proposals and client engagements

• 10+ years of experience in security architecture or related disciplines
• Chartered Cyber Security Professional (ChCSP) accreditation – essential
• Active DV clearance and UK residency eligibility
• Proven leadership of secure architectures across complex, multi-supplier or classified programmes
• Strong knowledge of NCSC guidance, Secure by Design, CAF, NIST and ISO 27001
• Experience applying risk-driven security architecture methodologies
• Strong understanding of security requirements, threat modeling, risk assessment and controls
• Ability to communicate complex risks to technical and C-level audiences
• Experience leading or mentoring security consultants and delivering technical outputs
• Excellent client-facing, communication and influencing skills
