SENDCO

We are looking for an Experienced SENDCO to join a SEN school situated in South-West Derby on a contracting basis. The School has 166 students enrolled, and has an outstanding rating on Ofsted along with a really strong management team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND across the school.
• Ensure statutory responsibilities relating to SEND are met.
• Lead and coordinate high-quality provision for pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Work closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies.
• Monitor pupil progress and drive continuous improvement in outcomes.
• Support staff development through coaching, training, and best practice guidance.
• Contribute to whole-school improvement and safeguarding priorities.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
• Demonstrates successful experience supporting pupils with complex needs
• Is a strong communicator who can build positive relationships with families and professionals
• Has a passion for inclusion and ensuring every pupil can thrive
• Brings energy, resilience, and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for young people

The contract itself will last up until Janurary, with an option to extend in the new year.
