Temporary Client Accountant for a role in Birmingham City Centre

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Client Accountant to join our client on a temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident finance professional who can quickly settle into a busy environment and provide accurate and reliable financial support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting requirements for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accounts are maintained accurately and deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the day-to-day accounting requirements for a portfolio of clients

Processing sales and purchase ledger transactions

Preparing and posting journals

Completing regular bank reconciliations

Preparing and reviewing management accounts

Assisting with month-end and year-end processes

Preparing VAT returns and other financial reports

Monitoring client accounts and resolving discrepancies

Managing client queries and providing a high level of service

Maintaining accurate financial records

Assisting with cash flow forecasting and reporting where required

Liaising with internal teams, clients and external contacts

Supporting with any additional finance duties as required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience working as a Client Accountant, Management Accountant, Accountant or similar

Strong understanding of general accounting principles

Experience with double-entry bookkeeping

Good knowledge of sales and purchase ledger processes

Experience with reconciliations and month-end procedures

Strong Excel skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and organisational skills

The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

A proactive approach and the ability to work independently

The ability to hit the ground running in a temporary position

Temporary Opportunity

This role would suit an experienced accountant who is immediately available or has a short notice period and is comfortable joining a business on a temporary basis.
