Role Description & Technical Scope

Job Description

B. ARP 4754, ARP 4761, ED‑202, ED‑203).
  • Fähigkeit zur sicheren Beherrschung der funktionalen Spezifikation/Ausprägung von Sicherheitsmechanismen (Authentifizierung, Zugriffskontrolle, Rechteverwaltung, Signatur, Firewall, Verschlüsselung, Segregation, Intrusion Detection).

In order to manage current and future projects

In order to manage current and future projects, Airbus Helicopters is looking for you to join the team in Donauwörth as soon as possible as our new Cyber Security Systems Architect (d/f/m). You will join our Avionics Systems Department within the design office! This department is dedicated to the design of avionics architectures for civil and military helicopters. Since helicopters must manage the security risk and its possible impact on flight safety and the mission, the avionics architecture must provide the means of protection and detection against potential cyber attacks. Also, your role as a cyber security architect will consist in defining and developing the cyber security component of the avionics architecture, in coordination with the helicopter avionics architect. You will be required to exercise this activity in a civilian context with the aim of certification with EASA of a new helicopter or the approval of a modification on an existing helicopter or in a military context with the aim of cyber security certification of a helicopter with the designated certification authority.

Our Benefits for You

  • Fair Compensation & Extras: Attractive remuneration and individual additional benefits, such as company pension schemes, mobility offers (e.g., bike leasing), or corporate discounts with partner companies in accordance with our current guidelines.
  • Time for You (and Your Loved Ones): 30 days of annual leave based on our collective agreement (35-hour week); work-life balance through flexible working hours (flextime), mobile working, part-time options, job sharing, and sabbatical opportunities.
  • Growth Made Easy: Excellent professional development opportunities and international, group-wide career perspectives.
  • Feel Good at Work: On-site company doctor; comprehensive health programs (sports courses, preventive care, etc.), canteen and cafeteria, and local childcare facilities at selected locations.
  • Diversity Connects: Work in a diverse environment with more than 140 nationalities, where exchange, mutual support, and inclusion are part of our DNA.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Formalisation of the integration of the cyber‑security processes of the engineering in the overall engineering processes and the overall integration within the Airbus Helicopters process landscape platform and ensuring merging with the support processes.
  • Assessment of the security risks for the helicopter configuration and definition of the necessary security requirements for the embedded system, that cover both functional and assurance aspects.
  • Monitor the development of security functions in accordance with their design assurance level.
  • Formalize the compliance demonstration to airworthiness requirements and contribution to helicopter security accreditation.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Completed Degree (Bachelor, Master/Diploma) in Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science, including a specialisation in security either as part of the master or via an additional program.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of embedded systems or in cybersecurity, including strong experience in systems engineering.
  • Language Skills: German and English - negotiation level, French - desirable.
  • Knowledge within aeronautical engineering standards (e.g. ARP 4754, ARP 4761, ED‑202, ED‑203).
  • Ability to master the functional expression of security mechanisms (authentication, access control, rights management, signature, firewall, encryption, segregation, intrusion detection).

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth with customized development solutions.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
