Section Engineer

About the Role

EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market‑leading expertise from Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM Nuttall. The company works on major railway projects including the high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are seeking to recruit a Section Engineer to join our Earthworks teams based at the Small Dean site in Wendover.

The Section Engineer manages junior engineers and assists the Sub Agent in construction operations. You will report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close out. Responsibilities include assisting with temporary works design schemes, allocating labour, plant and materials, managing the site setting‑out team, overseeing subcontractor performance, and producing programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contributing to financial forecasting.

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE)
• Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of site engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
• Experience in earthworks is essential for this role.
• Must have own transport to attend site(s) in remote areas.
• Full driving licence required.
• Holding the following competencies:
• SMSTS or SSSTS
• CSCS White, White‑Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager or Gold – Supervisor
