Electrical Engineer / Senior Engineer (Building Services)

In this role you help shape building services across healthcare, commercial, residential, and other sectors from Birmingham. You lead MEP design activities, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients and design teams to meet delivery goals. • Lead design and technical guidance within the MEP discipline on a range of projects
• Review design programmes and ensure adequate resources to meet technical and commercial targets
• Work with initiative under minimal supervision on technical aspects or apply specialist experience
• Interpret client needs and align project delivery accordingly
• Promote WSP capabilities in the region and support business development
• Supervise detailed designs and oversee work of others in the function
• Lead feasibility studies and oversee production of detailed performance specifications
• Develop and line-manage junior staff
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and design teams on technical discussions and documentation

• BEng/BSc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline
• Chartership with CIBSE/IET/Engineering Council or current progression towards it
• RevitMEP training or other 3D design software for directing work
• Proven leadership and track record delivering diverse projects
• Strong client, contractor, and design team engagement skills
• Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically
• Solid understanding of applicable regulations and how to demonstrate via calculations
• Working knowledge of UK/European electrical design regulations and project execution
• Eligibility for UK SC security clearance
• Electrical design skills including LV distribution, cable calculations, lighting, energy lighting, small power, fire and security systems
• Experience with ElectricalOM or Amtech cable calculations
• Ability to interpret and apply regulations in project execution
• Experience with data cabling, lightning protection, access control, and related systems
