Educ8SEN is expanding across Kent following successful approval onto the Kent County Council SEND Alternative Provision Framework.

We are now recruiting experienced SEND Tutors, Outreach Educators, Behaviour Mentors and Alternative Provision staff to support children and young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education.

This role involves supporting learners with a range of additional needs, including ASD/autism, ADHD, SEMH, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), anxiety, trauma-related needs, EHCPs, school refusal and disengagement from education.

Provision is delivered through flexible outreach models, including home-based tuition, community-based support, online learning and blended delivery.

Many learners require therapeutic and relationship-led engagement before formal academic learning can begin.

The Role

Depending on your experience and background, responsibilities may include:

Delivering 1:1 tuition and engagement sessions.

Supporting emotional regulation and confidence-building.

Building positive and consistent professional relationships.

Delivering personalised learning programmes.

Supporting reintegration into education.

Delivering Functional Skills and GCSE support where appropriate.

Recording attendance and progress updates.

Working collaboratively with families and professionals.

Using trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approaches.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in SEND, Alternative Provision, SEMH, PRUs, outreach work, behaviour mentoring, youth work, SEN schools, therapeutic education and EOTAS packages.

Requirements

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND/SEMH, including at least 2 years working with SEN or SEMH young people and 2 years working with SEND and SEMH children.

At least 1 year of teaching or mentoring experience.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to work independently.

Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one. An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is required.

Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Ability to provide professional references.

Location: Medway & Kent required; Medway, Kent preferred.

Desirable

QTS; SEN experience; GCSE or Functional Skills delivery experience; experience supporting EHCP learners; safeguarding training; and experience supporting autistic learners and anxiety-based non-attendance.

What We Offer

Flexible working arrangements, competitive hourly pay, long-term referral opportunities, a supportive safeguarding and operational team, meaningful and rewarding work, and opportunities across Kent.

Safeguarding Statement

Educ8SEN is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, reference checks and safeguarding compliance procedures
