Senior Cad Technician
Role Description & Technical Scope
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician to support the delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the UK. This contract role will involve leading CAD delivery, supporting digital engineering initiatives and helping project teams develop high-quality, buildable civil engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Leading and coordinating CAD delivery across water, wastewater, utilities and infrastructure projects
Producing and managing detailed 2D CAD drawings and 3D models
Using Autodesk Revit to support coordinated civil engineering and infrastructure designs
Coordinating multidisciplinary designs across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Process teams
Managing drawing production, document control and design quality standards
Identifying and resolving design clashes to support efficient project delivery
Contributing to BIM processes, digital engineering initiatives and information management
Providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced CAD technicians where required

Requirements
Strong civil engineering CAD experience within the water, utilities or infrastructure sectors
Advanced skills in 2D CAD drafting and 3D modelling
Proven experience using Autodesk Revit
Good knowledge of BIM processes and digital engineering principles
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering designs
Familiarity with ProjectWise or similar document management systems
Understanding of drawing production, design coordination and quality assurance processes
UK water industry and large infrastructure project experience would be advantageous
Additional Information:
This UK-wide contract opportunity is suited to a Senior CAD Technician with a strong civil infrastructure background, excellent Revit and BIM knowledge, and the ability to coordinate complex engineering projects. Knowledge of BIM Level 2 and previous team leadership or mentoring experience would be beneficial.
