Head of Contracts

In this role you will lead the Trust’s contracting function to optimise income, manage risk, and ensure compliance with NHS contracting frameworks. You will work with senior finance, operations and system leaders to shape contracting strategy and drive financial sustainability. You will oversee complex negotiations with commissioners, deliver contract performance and income recovery, and foster collaborations across the ICS and BSW Group. • Lead the development and delivery of the contracting strategy aligned with organisational priorities
• Oversee complex contract negotiations with commissioners and system partners
• Governance and management of NHS contracts, including performance tracking
• Ensure robust income forecasting, reconciliation and income recovery processes
• Provide expert advice on contractual, commercial and financial risks and opportunities
• Lead contract performance reporting and assurance processes
• Support implementation of national payment mechanisms and contracting reforms
• Develop collaborative relationships across the Trust, BSW Group and ICS partners
• Lead, motivate and develop the Contracts Team and foster continuous improvement and innovation

• Qualified Accountant
• Knowledge of NHS Contracting
• Experience in NHS Contracting or Income (desirable)
• Understanding of Income within the NHS (essential)
• Experience reporting Income within the NHS (desirable)
• Current UK professional registration (implied)
