Security Architect
Role Description & Technical Scope
Farnborough | Hybrid - 2 days onsite / 3 days remote
Help shape the architecture and technical direction of a SOC supporting Defence and National Security environments.
I'm looking for an experienced Security Architect with a strong understanding of security operations to take ownership of the design, governance and ongoing development of a modern Security Operations Centre (SOC).
You'll work closely with security engineers, analysts and wider stakeholders, making sure SOC platforms, integrations and services meet current operational needs while building a clear roadmap for future capability.
This is a senior role with real scope to influence how the SOC develops, from detection strategies and platform design through to automation, assurance and the introduction of new technologies.
What you'll be doing as the Security Architect:
- Owning and developing the architecture across SOC platforms, integrations and services
- Leading architecture activities across SOC services and customer environments
- Producing and reviewing high-level and low-level designs, security controls and testing requirements
- Shaping detection strategies, including rules, use cases and correlation logic
- Providing architectural oversight for technical changes and new security solutions
- Developing security blueprints and technology roadmaps
- Supporting SOC maturity, security assurance and accreditation requirements, including CREST
- Identifying practical opportunities to improve capability through automation, AI and emerging security technologies
- Translating security requirements into workable solutions alongside technical teams and stakeholders
To secure the Security Architect role
You'll have proven security architecture experience within a SOC, MSSP, enterprise security function or another complex security environment.
A strong understanding of SOC operations is essential, including security tooling, integrations, detection engineering and use case development. You'll also bring experience across security governance, risk, compliance and assurance.
You'll be comfortable making architectural decisions, explaining your approach and providing clear technical direction to the teams delivering the solutions.
Security clearance
Due to the environments supported, you must be willing and able to undertake Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the specific nationality and residency requirements for this role.
