Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Oracle Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 environments.
• Manage and support Solaris Zones (Global and Non-Global Zones) including provisioning, migration, and troubleshooting.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and security hardening of Solaris Servers.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, availability, and resolve OS-level incidents and problems.
• Manage filesystems, storage, user administration, backups, and system recovery activities.
• Support Legacy applications running on Solaris platforms and coordinate with application teams during deployments.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and technical runbooks.
• Participate in on-call support and major incident resolution when required.

Key Skills/knowledge/experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Solaris 10 & 11.
• Expertise in Solaris Zones, ZFS, SMF, and Solaris networking and boot prompts
• Good knowledge of OS troubleshooting, performance tuning, patch management, and system security.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
• Knowledge of Shell Scripting (KSH/Bash) will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience

• Experience supporting Legacy infrastructure environments.
• Exposure to storage technologies, backup solutions, and virtualization platforms.
