Full-Time | Long-Term Supply | £93 - £100 a day

Lotus Recruitment is working with a specialist setting in Canterbury to recruit a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop emotional regulation and reach their full potential in a supportive educational environment.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, including emotional regulation and behavioural challenges.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support in the classroom.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Supporting learning, engagement and personal development.
• Using positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Working closely with teachers and the wider team to provide consistent, tailored support.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or additional needs.
• Is patient, resilient, nurturing and proactive.
• Can build positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations.
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Is passionate about making a genuine difference to young people's lives.
