Business Development Manager

Business Development Lead - European New Space | Munich-based | Founding Commercial Hire

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-funded, early-stage European space technology company building infrastructure for the next generation of satellite operators. This is a ground-floor commercial hire, one of the company's first employees, with direct input into go-to-market strategy and pricing.

What you'll do:

• Own the full commercial cycle end-to-end, from first conversation through to signed contracts and agreed pricing
• Convert market interest into committed, paying customers across Earth Observation, defence, and government end-users
• Work directly with the founding team to shape commercial strategy and competitive positioning
• Build and manage relationships across European operators, primes, and institutional buyers

What we’re looking for:

• 8–10 years' commercial experience in space, defence, or Earth Observation
• Ideally commercial/data-sales background rather than purely institutional or programme-side experience
• A proven closer, comfortable owning pricing conversations through to signature, not just building pipeline
• Startup mindset: autonomous, persistent, hands-on, comfortable with pace and ambiguity
• Strong European network, particularly within Germany
• Native/Fluent German and English
• Technical fluency in satellite architecture, connectivity, or data/compute systems is a bonus but not essential
