HGV Class 1 Driver – Hazardous Waste

Location: Bootle, Merseyside

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday + Overtime

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a well-established and growing company specialising in hazardous waste management and recycling, based in Bootle earning a base rate of £18.50 per hour.

This is an excellent opportunity for a professional Class 1 Driver looking for a permanent position with opportunities for overtime and additional earnings.

Key Responsibilities

Transporting and collecting hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials from various locations across the UK.

Ensuring full compliance with all relevant transport, environmental and health & safety regulations.

Completing daily vehicle walkaround checks, recording inspections and reporting defects.

Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness and ensuring equipment is properly maintained.

Undertaking some manual handling and occasional yard duties when required.

Adhering to drivers' hours regulations and working time

requirements.

Completing occasional nights out as required by operational demands.

Ensuring all work is carried out safely, professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.

Valid Driver CPC qualification.

Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

ADR qualification preferred but not essential.

Good understanding of drivers' hours and transport legislation.

A professional attitude with a strong commitment to health and safety.

Flexibility to undertake occasional nights out and additional hours when required.

Working Hours & Benefits

Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Additional annual leave after two completed years of service, increasing by one day at a time up to a maximum of 25 days.
