Sports Graduates: Teaching Assistant Roles in Primary Schools, South Liverpool

About the Role

You will work alongside class teachers to support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Your sports background will be highly valued, and many schools welcome Teaching Assistants who can contribute to PE lessons, playground activities and extracurricular sport. You will:

Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities across the curriculum

Provide one to one and small group support to help pupils make progress

Assist with the delivery of PE lessons, sports clubs and active break and lunchtime activities

Encourage teamwork, resilience, fair play and a positive attitude to physical activity

Support pupils with additional needs to access learning

Promote positive behaviour in line with each school's policies

Help to create a safe, organised and stimulating learning environment

Support pupils' wellbeing, confidence and independence throughout the school day

About You

A degree in sports science, sports coaching, physical education or a related subject

Previous experience working with children in a school setting or as a sports coach (essential)

A patient, enthusiastic and positive approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A reliable and professional attitude

A genuine commitment to pupil success and wellbeing

Coaching qualifications, such as FA, RFU or ECB awards, are desirable but not essential

Right to work in the UK

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for oneWhat We Offer
